Ministry of Transportation Disentil, KCI Adds 6 KRL Trips to Anticipate Passenger Overcrowding
PT Kereta Commuter Indonesia (KCI) increases the number of KRL trips to anticipate the occurrence of passenger congestion during Eid al-Fitr 2021.

“To anticipate further overcrowding, starting this afternoon, KAI Commuter will operate at least six additional train travel schedules which previously did not run during the May 6-17 homecoming ban,” he said.

In addition, he ensured that officers would strictly regulate the use of masks according to the rules and try to maintain a distance between users. Anne emphasized that her party has also added duties at a number of stations to discipline the implementation of health protocols.

Previously, the Minister of Transportation, Budi Karya Sumadi, monitored the movement of passengers on the Jabodetabek Electric Rail Train (KRL) at Manggarai Station, Jakarta on H + 1 Eid al-Fitr 1442 Hijriah, Friday (14/5/2021).
The visit was deliberately carried out to ensure that the movement of people in agglomeration areas such as Jabodetabek remains under control during the prohibition period for going home until May 17, 2021.
However, after walking around Manggarai Station, Budi Karya found that the management of Jabodetabek KRL passengers was not well controlled. He got this conclusion after discussing with a number of passengers, and seeing the density on one train up to more than 70 people.

Not wanting KRL congestion to continue, Budi then urged KCI to improve management so as to anticipate the density and potential transmission of the Covid-19 pandemic.
“I ask KCI to be more professional in monitoring the agglomeration movement. This is an expensive lesson, many people are out of control. Once again I ask KCI to do it better and professionally,” he added.
