Thompson accused Trump of violating the Third Enforcement 1871 or the “Ku Klux Klan Act” by supporting the masses of supporters who pushed Capitol Hill to block President Joe Biden’s victory in the 2020 elections.
The Ku Klux Klan Act was created to give the US President power to oppose the violence of racist and extremist groups such as the Ku Klux Klan which emerged after the Civil War of 1861-1865. Dunia Politik dan Ekonomi
One of the clauses Thompson used to sue Trump was failing to prohibit conspiracy to get in the way of the federal government from doing their job.
Thompson accused Trump, his lawyer Rudy Giuliani, and the Trump-supporting militant group Proud Boys and Oath Keepers of “conspiring to commit violence, intimidation and threats” to prevent Congress from carrying out the task of verifying Biden’s election victory. Ekonomi Indonesia
“Defendants acted together to incite and then riot on Capitol Hill by encouraging groups of people to engage in violent and rebellious behavior or threats that pose grave danger to members of Congress,” Thompson said.
Thompson said the Capitol attacks were the result of “a joint plot pursued by the defendants since the elections took place in November 2020.
Meanwhile, Trump’s spokesman, Jason Miller, denied Thompson’s accusations.
“President Trump did not plan, produce, or organize the January 6 protests. President Trump did not incite or conspire to incite any violence in the Capitol on January 6,” Miller said. Politik dalam dan luar negeri
Until now, there has been no direct comment from Giuliani.
